What makes a neighborhood great? 

A place where you feel at home, and enjoy walking around. A place where you feel connected to the people and families who live nearby, and where you are proud to live. A home that’s more than an address — a community.

The Rock Creek Palisades Citizens Association (RCPCA) are neighbors who think that a great neighborhood is something we create by working together. We invite you to meet your neighbors. Together we can make our neighborhood the best place it can be.

Do you live in the neighborhood?

Rock Creek Palisades Citizens Association (RCPCA) represents homes in Connecticut Gardens, Hammond Wood, Kensington Knolls, Newport Hills, North Kensington, and Rock Creek Palisades (see map). 

 What is a citzens’s association good for?

Together, we can:

Share good times: Every year we proudly show off our spring flowers. We welcome half the County to our community to watch July 4 fireworks. Our kids walk door to door trick or treating. We admire the holiday lights decorating our homes. These seasonal events can mean even more if we celebrate them together.

Make our community safer: Making sure our neighbors are safe after a storm, insuring that traffic moves safely through our streets and that our children have safe places to walk and play, and making certain that our local government is aware of the services our neighborhood needs.

Build relationships with public institutions: Through a citizen's association we gain a louder, more coherent voice when we address the County Government, the police, fire, and sanitation departments, and the Maryland state government. 

Learn from each other: Need a reliable plumber or electrician? Having trouble keeping rust off of your roses? Want to know about a great local place to eat? Ask a neighbor.

¿Qué contribuye a un gran barrio?

Un lugar donde te sientes en casa, y donde puedes disfrutar paseando por las calles. Un lugar donde te sientes conectado con los vecinos cercanos  y un lugar donde estás orgulloso de vivir. Un hogar que es más de tu dirección - una comunidad.

El Rock Creek Palisades Citizens Association (RCPCA) son vecinos que piensan que un gran barrio es algo que creamos trabajando juntos. Te invitas a conocer a tus vecinos.  Juntos podemos mejorar nuestro barrio a ser lo mejor.

¿Qué  sriva una asociación de ciudadanos?

Juntos, podemos:

Comparte tiempos buenos: : Cada año mostramos con orgullo nuestros flores de la primavera.  Invitamos el medio de condado a nuestra comunidad para ver los fuegos artificiales del 4 de julio. Nuestros niños pasan por las casas en el dia de las brujas. Admiramos las luces de la Navidad en nuestras casas. Estos días festivos serian mejor si los celebramos juntos.

Ayúdanos en hacer una comunidad más segura: Podemos trabajar,  juntos para ver si los vecinos están seguros después de una tormenta, asegúrese si el tráfico se mueve por los calles con seguridad y que son seguros para nuestros niños a jugar y caminar, y que los representativos del gobierno se dan cuenta las necesidades del barrio.

Establece relaciones con las instituciones públicas: Juntos tenemos una vos más alta, más coherente, cuando hablamos con el gobierno del condado, la policía, los bomberos, el departamento de saneamiento y el gobierno del estado. 

Aprende unos de otros: ¿Necesitas un fontanero o una electricista bien? ¿Tiene problemas en el jardín? ¿Quieres saber sobre un gran restaurante local? Pídete a un vecino.
